Design Education in India is offered at both Undergraduate and Post - Graduate Level.
The Undergraduate Programme in Design is usually of four years duration for students after 10+2, or equivalent like AISSCE/ IB/ ICSE, and the Post-Graduate Programme in Design of 2 to 2.5 years duration for graduates; particularly from architecture, technology, engineering, fine and applied arts, information technology, computer science etc. The medium of instruction is usually English.
Most Colleges have their own entrance exams which constitutes of a written test
- creative ability and general ability, which takes place from January to May. This
is usually then followed by a situation test and interview which is the final stage
in April/May
Then the courses are given according to ranks, scores and your choices.
1 year FULL TIME Design Training: Primarily for Class 12 students and students who have passed class 12. This course is flexible keeping in mind the tight schedule of the 12 standard students. We understand it is a crucial year for them.
Students can choose their days or go for a weekend course.
1 year FULL TIME Design Training for PG: Particularly for IIT CEED, NID, NIFT and other design colleges of the country and Abroad.
2 year FULL TIME Design Training: For Class 11 students. This course is beautifully divided so that students can take care of their School.
Weekend Course: Students can take a 1 or a 2 year weekend course, incase there is time constraint.
Summer/Winter Holiday Course: Primarily for Outstation Students. The course is carefully planned for students pursuing studies in a different city, to come and attend classroom coaching and train themselves for admission. They will be given assignments to complete which will be checked both electronically or when the student comes for the next phase of studies.
This is the second phase of Entrance Tests of Design Institutes in India. After
the student clears the written Exam, he//she is called for the Situation Test where
the material/3D skills are tested.
We have a proper 10 day workshop, that results in students mastering the skills
required - through a series of examples, exercises, questions. This workshop is
conducted by NID alumni.
For students in class 9 and 10, who are creatively bent, we have a especially designed course that keeps their creative thinking alive, sharpens their drawing skills and at the same time they get an insight into the career they are planning to choose.
